Farmington Area PTA Scholarship:
The Farmington Area PTA Council sponsors a local scholarship program culminating with the presentation of up to three, $500 scholarships to graduating seniors from Farmington Public Schools. The scholarship is named after former Farmington Public Schools Superintendent C. Robert Maxfield, a man dedicated to serving others by providing educational opportunity to all youths in the community. To be eligible, a student must be an active member of a high school Parent Teachers Student Association (PTSA). Applications are due March 28, 2018. Recipients will be notified by April 28, 2018.
National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
Parents take part in the fun with their kids and leave the event with a deeper understanding of the simple ways they can support literacy.
Research shows that one of the most effective ways to prevent bullying behavior is to create a positive school climate. School climate encompasses everything that contributes to a student's experience with a school—from the physical building to policies, staff and peer culture.
Reflections is a PTA sponsored contest that encourages creativity in our students via visual arts, photography, literature, film production, music composition and dance choreography. All students from grades Pre-school to 12th grade in the Farmington Public School district are eligible to participate. All entries must be the work of one student.
What a great opportunity to tell the world about you and/or what is important to you. Keep in mind, all entries should be the student's interpretation of the theme. There isn't a wrong or right way to create art. Have fun!
